Senior Structural Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Bristol.
Undertake and assist with the design and delivery of structural engineering projects. Projects include new build, refurbishment and extensions within residential, commercial, health and educational projects.
On top of our regular workflows, we have recently won some exciting and prestigious new projects. Specifically, a large residential project featuring multiple blocks of up to 12 storeys.
We require an experienced structural engineer who can assist in the development and running of this and other projects. A technically sound engineer, who can take on some responsibility of the day-to-day running of this type of project.
This is an opportunity to grow both technical and management skills in a role with a strong pipeline of work. As well as the opportunity to grow your experience of leading design projects, there will be the opportunity to mentor and develop the less experienced engineers in our team. We value versatility in within our team as our typical workload is varied.
Whilst our ideal candidate would be Chartered or Incorporated, we would consider those with relevant experience who are close to achieving the qualification. We are able to provide support in completing the professional qualification process. We have an ICE Approved Training Scheme.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Preparing reports, designs, and drawings for building control submission
Prepare structural calculations
Selecting appropriate construction materials
Providing technical advice
Obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval
Liaising and working with relevant professional staff such as architects, M&E engineers, clients, PMs
Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors
Administering contracts
Managing projects / resources
Inspecting buildings to check structural condition and foundations
General

Person Specification
Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering
Proven working experience within the field of structural engineering (minimum 3 years design office experience)
Proficient with AutoCAD / REVIT (preferrable but not essential)
Decisive with excellent critical thinking skills
Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working within a similar environment
