About the Role
As a Finance Administrator at The Investigo Group, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance team with day-to-day financial activities. Your responsibilities will include:
Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases then filing hard copies
Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances
Completing VAT returns
Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Accountant of errors
Recording any inconsistencies to help the Accountants reconcile inaccuracies
Develop monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets
Help prepare employee wages / Assisting with payroll preparation and related activities.
Help manage employee expense claims
Helping the Accountant with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts
Checking customer's credit and approving or denying it, based on industry standards
Ensuring customers pay on time and charge them for overdue invoices
Maintaining accurate records
Implementing changes in the company's credit control system
Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Conducting bank reconciliations and monitoring accounts to ensure accuracy.
Maintaining and updating financial records and databases.
Providing support during audits by gathering and organising financial data.
Responding to inquiries from customers, suppliers, and internal staff regarding financial matters.
Collaborating with members of the Contracting and Training Team to ensure smooth operations and compliance with financial regulations.
Assisting with ad hoc financial projects and tasks as needed.
Requirements
What We're Looking For:
It would be ideal if you have a Certification in Bookkeeping or equivalent to demonstrate proficiency in bookkeeping principles and practices.
It would be ideal if you have an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Qualification or equivalent work experience to demonstrate accounting principles and practical skills relevant to the role.
Previous experience in an accounting or finance role in an accounting or finance department, even in an entry-level position, provides valuable knowledge and skills.
Experience using accounting software such as Xero is preferred but not mandatory.
Attention to detail is crucial to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
Strong numerical skills are essential for performing tasks such as reconciliations and data entry accurately.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders regarding financial matters.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams to support all areas of the group.
Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
Experience with payroll processing is a plus.
