Purchasing Assistant

Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing company, based in Rotherham who are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Purchasing Assistant. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the procurement team and ensuring the smooth flow of materials and supplies. Your responsibilities as Purchasing Assistant will include:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors
Effective planning, purchasing, and expediting
Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules with suppliers
Process purchase orders accurately and efficiently
Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely order fulfilment
Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery
Assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels
Admin of import documents /sending to clearing agents
Requirements of the Purchasing Assistant:
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
Excellent excel skills (vlookup, sumif , pivot table at a minimum)
