Legal Cashier / Accounts Assistant

Nottingham

We're looking for a capable, confident, and hard-working Accounts Assistant, Legal Cashier or Cash Allocation Clerk for well-established Solicitors in Nottingham City Centre. The area has excellent transport links and parking available nearby (with parking paid for).

The role will be full time hours, office based, Monday to Friday, there is no option for hybrid working within this position.

This would be an excellent opportunity for someone with knowledge of SRA accounts rules, who perhaps is only doing one aspect of the Legal Cashier role, or who is recently graduated with minimal experience, to develop in the role and gain more of understanding of all the below duties:

Maintaining ledgers and inputting data.

Payment Processing.

Reconciliation of accounts and bank statements.

VAT returns, VAT2 forms, quarterly Partial Exemption calculations and HMRC payments.

Month end duties including report building.

Journal/report building.

We are looking for someone who fulfills the following:

A willingness to learn, develop and work hard

Knowledge of SRA account rules, with some legal/solicitor experience

Use of Excel, Word, Sage, and has strong IT skills

High attention to detail

Organised

Great written and verbal communicator
