Mechanical Design Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
Be responsible for all aspects mechanical design work
Plan and conduct projects to preset milestones and budgets
Work with customers to get a comprehensive understanding of customer
Developing cost effective design solutions to the customer’s technical and commercial requirements
Rectify any design errors, cost controlling all the time
Undertaking theoretical analysis and mathematical modelling
Developing and building prototypes to test their function
Devising, implementing, and documenting appropriate experiments and tests
Engineering change management
Writing detailed technical documentation
Sourcing components and liaising with suppliers
The ideal Mechanical Design Engineer will:
3+ years in an engineering design environment (ideally electro-mechanical)
Have knowledge in engineering materials and manufacturing processes
Experience working with complex machined parts
BA degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
Proficiency in common design software, such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Project management skills
