Assistant Accountant - Hybrid, 3 days WFH

A rapidly growing SME, on track to double in size within the next couple of years, leading the way in their industry providing award winning bespoke solutions.
They are now looking to expand their finance team by recruiting a highly motivated Assistant Accountant, to assist in all areas of finance and get stuck in with key business decisions going forward.
The ideal candidate will be a Finance Graduate or AAT qualified, who is keen to progress onto further studies (CIMA/ACCA), as full study support will be on offer with further opportunities for growth
A competitive salary on offer between £29,000 - £35,000 & excellent benefits!
Assistant Accountant - Responsibilities include:
Support with the completion of management and annual accounts
Maintain accuracy of client and supplier financial records
Prepare new accounts and initial sign up invoices for new clients
Assist with the monthly billing process
Manage the credit control and liaise with accounts managers
Verify and process supplier invoices and prepare the payment run
Verify and reimburse employee expense claims
Support cash management with daily bank reconciliations, following up on missing receipts/invoices
Assist in gathering data for financial analysis and budgets
Assist with company VAT return
Support payroll process and assist with queries
Provide support during internal and external audits

What do we need from you?
Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
At least 2 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant role
AAT qualified with the desire to progress on to further studies (CIMA/ACCA)
Good organizational skills and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication skills and confidence to raise concerns.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
