We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a friend Finance team working for a company based in Grays. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to develop their skills and experience within this type of role, as your duties will evolve over time, with full support being provided. This forward-thinking company are looking for self-motivated people to join them and continue to help grow their impressive business further!

Duties will include but not be limited to:

Processing a high volume of purchase ledger invoices

Managing a busy payroll

Monitoring and proactively managing the purchasing documentation

Resolution of invoice queries through communication with suppliers and internal managers

Maintaining accurate and timely filing of invoices and associated documents

Reconciliation of supplier statements and bank reconciliations

Production of daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reports

Aged debtor and creditor reporting, together with the maintenance of daily financial controls, reporting and compliance

Identifying, investigating, and correcting any anomalies

You must have a flexible approach to working as you may be required to assist with extra duties at short notice to support the business, including collating financial information. As you progress further, additional training will be given to cover tasks such as VAT Analysis and online returns, fixed asset reconciliation, balance sheet and profit & loss analysis and payroll processing.

Ideally you will have an AAT qualification or be working towards one with a keen interest in progressing further within your finance career. This employer will look for longevity in your career and will invest in anyone that wants a stable, long-term career here! Ideally you will have a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manipulate data and reports, along with proven experience of working within a finance or accounts team.

This position will be 100% office based, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm. The salary will be £26k - £28k depending on your experience.You will also be offered 20 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 25 after qualifying service).
