Position Overview:

Responsibilities:
Lead engineering activities related to smart motorways projects from conception to completion.
Design, review, and optimise intelligent traffic management systems, including variable speed limits, dynamic lane control, and incident detection.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance safety, capacity, and efficiency of motorway networks.
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to inform project decisions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Liaise with stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure project objectives are met and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in smart transportation, contributing to the advancement of our technical capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in highway engineering, traffic management, or related fields, with a focus on smart motorways projects for a Tier 1 contractor.
Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation) and traffic engineering software (e.g., VISSIM, Synchro).
Demonstrated expertise in the design and implementation of intelligent transportation systems, including familiarity with industry standards and guidelines.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate resources effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and build productive relationships.
