Embedded Software Engineer

Cambridge, England, United Kingdom

I am working closely with an exciting company based in Cambridge who are in the process of scaling up from a start up to an established Biotechnology company. They have created a state-of-the-art platform which is the fastest, automated, instantly scalable platform for cell and gene therapy manufacture to help the commercialization and clinical translation of life-saving medicines.

The opportunity is for a software engineer who will be part of their engineering team. The software engineer will Understand the technical and user requirements of the products. Create, debug, test, document, and deploy software for new products, including software/hardware interfaces, user interfaces, data logging, and presentation. Follow all relevant medical device directives and EU GMP Annex 11.

Technical skills needed include:

2 years in a regulated industry or similar,

2 years of experience with writing code in C/C++ OR Python.

Embedded systems focus and electronics with microcontrollers.

Experience of machine vision systems and image recognition would be beneficial.

Experience of writing code for systems and control engineering.

Experience with Linux distributions such as Ubuntu would be beneficial.

Experience with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS would be beneficial.
