We are looking to recruit a Finishing shop Machine Operator to efficiently operate manual grinding equipment to produce finished products.
Main responsibilities:
Responsible for setting up and operating a variety of finishing equipment (cylindrical / surface / polishing)
Carry out routine operator maintenance tasks.
Responsible for quality of work and level of production
Ensure that components are finished accordingly to the quality standards / customer drawings / process documents for each application.
Inspect parts before and after processing to ensure preceding operations have been carried out correctly and to verify that your own work has met the required standards.
Good housekeeping (5s) of own work area and contribute to the general upkeep of the working environment.
Become familiar with the "check-work-check" process and be committed to a "right first time" approach to all tasks carried out.
Operate in a safe manner and undertake any training necessary to enable you to fulfil the requirements of your position.
To uphold your statutory duty of care for your own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
To enable the company to meet its own legal duties and to report any hazardous situations or defective equipment.
Wear personal protective equipment provided by the company.
Ensure a high level of communication to employees, managers & colleagues.
Qualifications, experience, and skills:
Previous experience of setting and operating Surface grinding machines
Experience in reading engineering drawings.
Competent in the use of measuring equipment and measuring techniques.
A team player with a "can do attitude" and attention to detail.
Salary / package:
Hours of work 7.30am-4pm Monday to Thursday - Friday 7.30am to 11.30am
Basic 36 Hours - Morning break paid. Lunch deducted.
Overtime - Paid at time + Half - £17.46 per hour
Pension
Free parking on site.
25 days holiday plus national holidays.
