Reed Scientific are working in partnership with a food and drink testing company who are seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee their lab operations. The role encompasses overall responsibility for technical operations, quality assurance, and health and safety. This is an ideal position for a proactive individual with a strong background in analytical chemistry, laboratory management and a focus on quality assurance and procedure implementation.
Day to Day of the role:
Manage the day-to-day operation of the lab, ensuring all practices and processes align with ISO 17025 standards, including UKAS and ISO 17025.
Oversee technical operations, ensuring the technical adequacy and accuracy of laboratory methods and tests.
Strive to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and speed up turnaround times.
Monitor laboratory performance and initiate actions to strengthen results.
Manage consumables availability and associated cost control.
Ensure maintenance, repair, servicing, and calibration of equipment and instrumentation.
Maintain laboratory accreditation through adherence to ISO 17025, responding to UKAS actions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
