Position Overview:
This is a unique position where the Senior Category Manager will not have their own category to buy and trade. This is a out and out people manager role.
This is a pivotal role, responsible for leading and managing a team of Category Managers. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving sales, profitability, and strategic growth initiatives across Health & Beauty and FMCG.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Category Managers to achieve individual and team goals, reporting directly to the Senior Category Manager.
Develop and implement strategic plans to optimise trading performance, drive sales growth, and maximise profitability under the guidance of the Senior Category Manager.
Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for product assortment expansion and optimization, collaborating closely with the Senior Trading Manager.
Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure alignment and execution of trading strategies, with support from the Senior Trading Manager.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favourable terms to support business objectives, with oversight from the Senior Category Manager.
Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), sales metrics, and financial performance to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous optimisation, reporting findings to the Senior Category Manager.
Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging trends, and best practices to inform decision-making and drive innovation, with guidance from the Senior Category Manager.
Qualifications:
Proven track record of success in a senior trading or category management role, within the FMCG or Health & Beauty sector.
Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a results-oriented mindset.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
