Here at Blackmagic Design we create the world’s highest quality video editing products, digital film cameras, colour correctors, video converters, video monitoring, routers, live production switchers, disk recorders, waveform monitors and real time film scanners for the feature film, post production and television broadcast industries.
As an experienced FPGA Engineer specialising in video processing, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising FPGA-based solutions to support various video processing tasks. You will work along side our already established engineering team, here in Bristol and you will contribute to the development of state-of-the-art video processing algorithms and architectures to meet the demands of our customers in the rapidly evolving video industry.
Key Responsibilities Include:
-Implementing FPGA-based solutions for video encoding, decoding, transcoding, and streaming.
-Optimising FPGA designs for performance, power efficiency, and real-time processing requirements.
-Working on Interface FPGAs with video input/output interfaces (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort, SDI) and integrate with video processing pipelines.
Qualifications Requirements Include:
-Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
-Proficiency in FPGA design using Verilog or VHDL, with hands-on experience using FPGA development tools (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus).
-Firmware design experience.
-Familiarity with image processing techniques and tools (e.g., OpenCV) is a plus.
-Software scripting experience would be nice to have but not essential.
