Are you an experienced Music Teacher with a passion for leading and inspiring students? Do you have a proven track record of teaching music in a secondary school setting? We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head of Music to join our team and lead the music department at our secondary school in Darwen.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and managing the music department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Delivering engaging and inspiring music lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Planning, preparing, and implementing a comprehensive music curriculum.
Assessing, tracking, and reporting on student progress and attainment.
Organizing and leading extracurricular music activities, including school concerts and performances.
Collaborating with colleagues to develop and share best practices and resources.
Supporting and mentoring other music teachers within the department.
Participating in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
Experience teaching music in a secondary school setting.
Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one).
Valid and contactable professional references.
Right to work in the UK.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
