Since 2008, we have helped to establish procurement as an effective driver for local and national economic growth and wellbeing. Our £2bn portfolio of collaborative contracts supports the delivery of savings, social value, community benefits, fair work practices and environmental policy, and covers a wide range of public services including construction, roads, transport, environment, corporate and education.

Scotland Excel also develops and manages arrangements which support the commissioning of care services for children and adults. Our national care contracts are developed in partnership with care professionals, including care providers, to support person-centred outcomes embedded within national policy.

We also provide procurement and consultancy services to help our members get the most from their procurement resources, ranging from ad-hoc tendering support through to transformation programmes and strategic procurement partnerships.

The Scotland Excel Academy offers applied learning programmes leading to accredited qualifications in procurement, leadership and management, coaching and mentoring, project management and business analysis, as well as short courses and workshops.

Scotland Excel is a non-profit organisation working with members from across the public sector including local authorities, health and social care partnerships, housing associations, and other public and third sector organisations.

About the role

Following a review of Scotland Excel’s Corporate Services structure, we are now looking to recruit a permanent Corporate Services Manager to lead our busy and expanding team who provide support services to the wider organisation.

As a member of the Customer Services Management Team, the Corporate Services Manager will contribute to the overall management of the Scotland Excel Customer Services Team by maintaining policies, strategies and procedures aligned to the organisation’s key targets and objectives. You will assist the Customer Services Manager to formulate, implement and promote Scotland Excel policies, taking cognisance of business objectives, new initiatives, public sector regulations, legislative change and stakeholder expectations.

The specific areas of responsibility for this role include:

·      Leading the Corporate Services Team, including HR, Finance, & Office Services

·      Managing recruitment, payroll and budget services within Scotland Excel

·      Lead, monitor and report on the financial performance of Scotland Excel

·      Manage, coordinate and deliver an internal training programme for all Scotland Excel employees

·      Providing services to the wider organisation including arranging travel and events

·      Leading the management of committee services from a Scotland Excel perspective

·      Undertaking responsibility for workplace facilities management

·      Managing compliance with Scotland Excel’s health & safety and environmental policies

·      Represent Scotland Excel at local and national key forums, meetings and events.

·      Deputise for the Customer Services Manager as and when required.
