Principal Java Engineer
Are you a seasoned Principal Java Engineer ready to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic environment? Our client, a leading player in the insurance industry, is seeking a talented individual to join their innovative team. This role offers fully remote working flexibility with very occasional office visits when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Spearhead the Java Centre of Excellence, driving the delivery of innovative integration solutions.
Design new functionality, propose enhancements, and address technical debt.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine ideas and meet project deadlines.
Provide technical mentoring and support to colleagues, fostering a high-performing environment.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in web development with a strong focus on Java (preferably version 11+).
Proficiency in Spring Boot Framework (version 2.3+) for creating web APIs.
Demonstrated experience delivering cloud-hosted solutions using Microsoft Azure.
Familiarity with Scala Framework is advantageous.
Expertise in software management tools such as GIT, Git Hub, or Subversion.
Solid understanding of web design, development, architecture, and standards.
Proactive mindset with the ability to challenge design assumptions and drive solutions.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Prior experience in the insurance industry would be highly beneficial.
