Teaching Assistant
Reed Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at one of our wonderful SEN Schools.
The role is ideal for someone committed to making a difference in pupils’ lives, including those with behavioural needs. The successful candidate will work under the instruction and guidance of teaching staff to facilitate learning and support catch-up sessions for small groups of KS3 and KS4 students.
Day to Day of the role:
Assist teaching staff in the delivery of learning activities and work programmes.
Provide support to individual pupils or small groups to enable access to learning.
Contribute to the management of pupil behaviour, ensuring a constructive learning environment.
Participate in planning and preparation of lessons with teaching staff.
Support pupils with special educational needs, ensuring they engage in activities alongside other pupils.
Monitor and evaluate pupils’ responses to learning activities through observation and planned recording of achievement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.
Understanding of the needs of children with behavioural needs.
Ability to work effectively under the instruction and guidance of teaching staff.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn.
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to register.
A Disclosure & Barring Service Check will be required for this position.
