An inclusive school based in Haringey are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 1 team.As a Teaching Assistant within the Key Stage 1 team, you will play a vital role in supporting children with various needs within mainstream and specialist classrooms. You will work closely with an experienced team of Teachers and support staff to provide personalised care and education, enabling students to thrive in all areas of learning. What will your responsibilities be? Work in tandem with the class teacher and support staff, supporting students in and out of the classroom.

Lead 1:1 and small group tasks with children, focusing on specific areas of development, e.g. fine motor skills or phonics screenings.

Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Undertake tasks within the classroom to assist the teacher and children.

Supervise during lunch time and breaks.

Monitor and record the progress, communicating effectively with the relevant staff.

Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills related to supporting children with complex needs.

What do the school require from you? Experience working with children in EYFS or Primary settings.

Either experience supporting children with SEND, or be open to learning about SEND within children and how to best support within the classroom.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Confident and able to use your initiative.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.

Knowledge of relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
