Description
Processing of day to day transactions relating to rent collection, sales ledger for factored owners, cash book and purchase ledger.
Month end processes and reconciliations for all ledgers and sub accounts
Accounting for fixed assets, housing stock and component replacement
Payroll processing
Maintenance of register of owners, assisting calculation of factoring charges, issuing of annual invoices and collection of payments relating to factored properties
Monthly accounting for accruals and prepayments
Preparation of quarterly management accounts including narrative descriptions
Collation of year end information to support financial statements for audit.
Assist in preparation of annual budgeting
Ensure all rental income receipts are recorded accurately and posted daily
Ensure all purchase invoices are recorded accurately and authorised in line with Scheme of Delegation
Prepare purchase ledger payments in line with credit terms
Manage factoring debt and ensure recovery action is pursued
Preparation and processing of all general ledger journals
Administer the full payroll process, including expenses and payments to HMRC and pension schemes.
Monitoring of income and expenditure against budget to prepare commentary for quarterly management accounts
Prepare monthly financial information in relation to repairs and asset management
Collate financial information for regulatory returns to the Scottish Housing Regulator
Profile
A successful Finance Officer should have:
A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and financial transactions
Competency in using financial software and systems
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Job Offer
An estimated hourly wage of £20.30ph - £21.98ph
Fully office based (Dennistoun)
