First Legal Services is a developing law firm experiencing positive growth. We primarily work with Housing Disrepair claims but will be looking to expand into other areas in the coming months.
The successful candidate will have the drive and ability to work under pressure and time constraints whilst getting the job done and delivering excellent service to our clients.
Our team consists of people from an array of different professional backgrounds including solicitors and CILEX practitioners and is designed to provide our clients with a solution, no matter the task that is required to be undertaken.
JOB PURPOSE
We currently have an opening for a Litigation Team Leader to join our Housing Disrepair department based in our Liverpool Office. The team handles complex litigation and is extremely busy. As a team leader within First Legal Solicitors, you need to be dedicated and motivated, with a focus on quality and a desire to deliver. You will report to the Department Manager and be responsible for managing daily activity, performance and results as well as ensuring the team delivers first class service to our individual clients.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prioritising workloads to ensure targets are delivered
Managing system and process changes effectively
KPI reporting and key task management
Confident day to day decision maker
Advising as required on cases to clients, other departments, and relevant stakeholders
Training and staff development including conducting one to ones and appraisals
Ensuring that cases are appropriately allocated, assessed, managed and conducted in a proactive and commercially-focussed manner.
Overseeing the progression and resolution of all cases in the team throughout the litigation process
COMPETENCIES
Inspirational leader of people and teams, with previous supervisory or management experience
Experience working in Housing Disrepair advantageous.
Significant experience of civil litigation claims handling from inception to trial
Holistic approach to case management and strategy setting – seeing the bigger picture
Good knowledge of litigation case management processes (Proclaim is desirable but not essential)
Commitment to excellent client care and communication across all audiences
Dedication to professional development of team and individuals
Proactive and clear approach to problem solving
Time management and organisational skills
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Effective use of Litigation Case Management Systems
Experience of effective management of significant caseload from inception to trial
Part 7 litigation experience
Multitrack and fast track litigation experience
Previous supervisory or management experience within litigated practice area
