Research Finance Officer
My client is on the market looking for experienced Research Finance Officer who will mainly be responsible for supporting all financial reporting and audit conditions as required as well as support with business partnering of key internal and external stakeholders in providing expert advice and guidance. Other responsibilities will include but not limited to; Producing accurate and timely financial reporting - budget versus actuals; Ensuring costs charged are eligible within the terms & conditions; Providing forecasting and budgetary advice and guidance as required; Supporting regular financial oversight reviews; assess any financial and/or reputational risks and resolve and/or escalate within the agreed policies and procedures as set by management; Understanding the basic financial accounting required to accurately record all eligible income and costs; ensure all interim, annual and final claims, invoices & financial reporting are complied with per contractual deadlines; Supporting the regular review aged debtors to ensure claims and invoices are settled within the credit terms.
Essential skills and experience
Studying towards a recognised CCAB professional accountancy qualification or equivalent.
Studying towards level 3 or 4 of the AAT qualification.
Have experience of working in a finance environment.
Previous experience of working with Oracle Financials software (Desirable).
Have excellent IT skills, to include intermediate excel skills and be able to demonstrate analytical skills over a large amount of data.
Possess strong numeracy skills demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to quickly grasp complex details, analyse, summarise and evaluate.
Be effective at solving problems.
