One day you could be liaising with one of the world's largest airframers, and the next, some of the biggest airline brands around the world!In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales.

Our in-house design studio co-creates the most innovative experiences in the sky with our airline customers and partners. Our dedicated engineering, production and in-service support facilities are integral to delivering a high-end quality product that we keep flying throughout the life of programme. We are fully supported by a wide team of support functions, from HR to Finance, to Business Development and Planning and Logistics, our team is built to give Safran Seats an end-to-end capability in house in the UK.

Description

* Preferably a working knowledge of regulations FAR/CS 25-561, EASA Part 21 J, ARP 5526 and Airframer specifications* Be familiar with most aspects of Aerospace engineering techniques* Be able to plan and manage own and a limited number of others stress activities for a specific program* Manages self and technically supports junior stress engineers to ensure tasks are completed to requirements of time, cost and quality* Assist with identifying certification test failure risk, an ensure it is managed effectively and minimised with the use of appropriate analytical methods and judgement* Prepare, review and approve hand calculations, linear static, non-linear, crash, multi-body dynamic and optimisation FE models for seating products to support the design and certification process, plus the in-service life of the product* Identify structural design issues and recommend improvements and alternate solutions* Supporting root cause analysis (e.g. 8D/Ishikawa)* Provide expertise in continuous improvement of department processes, methods and manuals* Be innovative in their approach to problem solving. Ensure that innovative and creative ideas are supported, evaluated and investigated to conclusion

Profile

Minimum - 2:1 Bachelors (Honours) degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Aerospace/Structural Engineering.

Experience of working to industry standards and codes. Knowledge of Part 25 (EASA/FAA) and Boeing / Airbus specifications. Knowledge of ACs, ARPs and Aerospace Standards. Knowledge of Aerospace Material Standards and Material or component test standards and post-processing methods (e.g. ASTMs and B-Basis calculations)

Organisational and planning skills with ability to self-plan and manage the technical work, meet deadlines and work effectively with different functions and levels of responsibility.

Prepare written communications and presentations to support the programme team and stress department activities.

Assist in the preparation of task and resource plans.

- Your key responsibility is to assist program managers with the operational management of their organization to help them meet their objectives.- Your role is to help managers achieve their commitments regarding delivery (deliverables, milestones), non-recurring and recurring costs (NRC and RC), Earned Value Management (EVM), and quality- You must be proficient in the use and configuration of management tools, and in overseeing their use by people involved in the process- You are expected to address and report any irregularities with regard to the program and project management reference system- You are also expected to make recommendations to ensure continuous process improvement and the deployment of best practices- You do not have any decision-making authority regarding programs, projects or business lines and you cannot stand in for managers.- In other words, management, planning, resource allocation, communication of leadtimes, financial data, risks and opportunities remain the sole responsibility of managers
