Accounts Assistant

Sheridan Maine are excited to be partnering with a specialist business based in the Portsmouth area, to recruit an Accounts Assistant. Our client is seeking someone with all-round accounting knowledge to join their small but expanding team. As the Accounts Assistant, your key responsibilities will include: Bank reconciliations with multiple accounts
Managing CIS returns, reconciliations and submissions to the HMRC
Posting bank payments
Managing credit control and receivables ledgers
Dealing with invoice related queries
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Processing purchase ledger invoices
Raising sales ledger invoices
Processing of staff expenses and credit cards
Preparing timesheet information and hours to send to the external payroll team
Skills and experience we’re looking for: Proven working experience in accounting and finance
Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Motivated and excels in a fast-paced environment
The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication and organisational skills
Experience in the Construction would be desirable, but is not essential
