Job Type: FTC 6 Months
We are seeking 2 experienced Accounts Controllers to join the finance team of a dynamic and growing organisation that is part of a global network of donor registries. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in finance, with a strong background in handling VAT, staff expense claims, posting invoices, setting up payments, and general finance duties. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, and has a passion for numbers. The role is an initial 6-month FTC with potential to be made permanent should performance expectations and team fit be aligned.
Day to Day of the Role:
Oversee processing of transactions, including bank transactions in multiple currencies, purchase and sales invoices, petty cash, and expense claims.
Ensure compliance with VAT regulations, including preparation and submissions of quarterly returns.
Process reimbursement claims for donors, staff, and volunteers.
Communicate effectively with external parties and internally with colleagues within the department and international teams.
Handle credit control responsibilities and prepare/validate supplier payments.
Process daily transactions at month end and cover Finance Assistant’s responsibilities during absence.
Participate in projects, prepare SOPs, and undertake other assignments delegated by the Head of Finance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
A-Level education or equivalent.
Proficiency with SAP accounting software or similar ERP systems (e.g., SAGE 200, JD Edwards).
Advanced Excel skills.
3-4 years’ experience in a busy finance department.
Good understanding of accounting and VAT processes, procedures, and regulations.
Independent worker with initiative and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
Well-organised with strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Excellent multitasking ability and resilience under pressure.
Commitment to confidentiality and collaborative working.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with others with enthusiasm, sensitivity, respect, and humour.
Strong passion for the mission of the organisation.
