An exciting opportunity for a lawyer with experience in structured finance, derivatives and securitisation to join a national team based in New Zealand. We are looking for people who have the desire to be involved in industry leading transactions and the drive and ambition to build effective client relationships alongside our partners and deliver innovative legal services.
We act on the most innovative and challenging structured finance transactions in the New Zealand market - we have the market leading securitisation practice and are ISDA's counsel in New Zealand. With this role, the successful candidate will play a lead role in the securitisation and derivatives practice of the financial services team. This will include:
advising a number of non-bank lenders on their securitisation programmes;
advising on range of transactional derivatives transactions, including carbon and electricity derivatives and the hedging aspects of infrastructure and structured financing transactions; and
advising on netting and other derivatives regulatory matters.
The national team provides a comprehensive range of services to leading banks, financial institutions, investment banks, and corporate and sovereign entities. All of our partners have practised as financial services lawyers in either Europe or New York.?
Experience and qualifications
7+ years of quality legal experience, preferably including some time in private practice in New Zealand
Specialist experience in structured finance, securitisation and/or derivatives
The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team
