We are seeking an English Teacher to join our dedicated team at an Independent SEN School. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate educator to make a significant impact on the lives of students with SEND. You will be part of a small specialist team, working in a therapeutic setting to deliver the highest quality education and support.
Day-to-day of the role: Teach, assess, and support students within a small classroom setting, with approximately 10 students per class across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Facilitate engaging and tailored educational activities that cater to the individual needs and academic abilities of each student.
Supervise and collaborate with support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
Work effectively with colleagues, parents/carers, students, and external agencies.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance teaching practices and contribute to the school’s mission.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification preferred; unqualified teachers willing to gain the necessary qualifications are also welcome to apply.
Experience working with SEND students in a therapeutic or educational setting is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of the English curriculum and the ability to create differentiated learning experiences.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
Commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to learning new systems and practices.
