Senior Project Engineer

Ten Live Ltd are urgently recruiting a Senior Engineer for a National Structural and Civil Engineering company based in the Edinburgh Area. This is an amazing opportunity to work within a fast growing and adaptable business.
General Requirements:
·CEng MICE or MIStructE
·Proven technical ability and high standard of design ability and rigour
·Commitment to practice beyond contractual obligation
·Ability to establish business contracts with a view to generating new work
Principal Duties and Responsibility:
·Management - of projects and staff assigned to projects
·Leadership - guide mentor and motivate non-chartered technical staff
·Resourcing – assist Section Leader and Associate to coordinate office resources on a weekly basis
·Design – initiating ideas, feasibility analysis, technical supervision, safety of finished structure, converting on architects vision into functional reality
·Training – assist in the training, mentoring and professional development of non-chartered technical staff.
·Health & Safety – ensure staff under the responsibility are aware of risk associated with visit s to construction sites. Ensuing staff have proper PPE
·Business Development – procure new work and help develop new areas of business marketing, networking and establishing contacts
General Duties and Responsibilities:
·Develop new contacts and business opportunities
·Assist Section Leader in preparing a weekly workload report and if required, attend weekly workload meetings
·Maintain resourcing information in Workspace
·To carry out structural design work
·To monitor financial performance/profitability of projects. Discuss Project Owner report with Section Leader each month
·To maintain continuing professional development and to keep abreast of technical development and legislation
·To assist marketing the Practice
·Help the company to be profitable and raise profile with external clients through key relationships
·Be involved in and contribute to tactical decisions affecting projects in the Practice
·Report to Section Leader on all technical and welfare issues as necessary and Project Owner reports
·Work individually and as a project team member efficiently, professionally and in a helpful manner
·Assist in training and development of non-chartered technical staff to continually improve their technical ability, work ethic and efficiency
Project Owner/Manager:
·To carry out or discuss conceptual/feasibility design of projects
·To plan, supervise and manage projects and project engineers to ensure a quality service to clients
·Ensure that Health & Safety aspects of designs are properly considered for compliance with CDM Regulations
·To monitor financial performance/profitability of projects
Structural Engineer:
·To carry out structural design work, inspections and reports when required
·To monitor financial performance/probability of projects
·To maintain continuing professional development and to keep abreast of technical drawings and legislation
Benefits:
35 hour week, core hours of 10 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 4 pm. Flexi & Hybrid working
