Support Worker Role, Responsibilities and Duties
We are currently looking to grow our already established, dynamic and dedicated team of support workers who are committed and dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of individuals with care needs.
Role
You will be supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, ASD [Autism], Medical [Physical] and Mental Health Illnesses, and ADHD to lead a fulfilling and more independent life.
You will support clients with all aspects of their day-to-day living, including social and physical activities, personal care, and support with managing behaviours that challenge, form and maintain healthy r/ships
Responsibilities and Duties
Identifying and planning their care
Supporting clients to maintain the patient’s personal hygiene and wellbeing
Administering medication [supervising and auditing].
Taking and monitoring individuals’ vital signs, checking their temperature, BP, pulse etc.
Attending medical appointments mental health reviews, professionals’ meetings etc.
Advocating for clients, providing general emotional support.
Engaging clients and providing companionship
Support with financial responsibilities, paying bills, providing support and advice on budgeting, food, and all essential shopping,
Supporting and encouraging people to manage their own domestic responsibilities meal preparation, household chores, teaching life skills such as cooking, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Encouraging and supporting a healthier lifestyle/making positive choices about their life.
Working with colleagues and other professionals, such as social workers, address clients’ needs and review their care.
Keeping accurate and maintain up-to-date records and reports.
Monitoring the patient’s mental state, risk assessing and updating records.
Communicating and supporting the patient’s relatives and carers always maintaining a positive relationship.
Ensuring they are eating a balanced diet and drinking adequately.
Supporting people to access community facilities/activities, access to work/education courses
Meeting their social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
Supporting clients in maintaining their tenancy /accommodation.

Required Qualifications
Essential
Applicants must be 18 or over
GCSE
NVQ level 2 in healthcare
1-year experience in healthcare
Desirable
Full driver’s license
Mental health experience

£11.50 - 14.00 per hour, depedning on experience and qualifications.
