Senior Data Engineer Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Data Engineer to join a dynamic team dedicated to shaping effortless, digital-first customer experiences. This role is pivotal in driving value for customers through modelling, sourcing, and data transformation. The Senior Data Engineer will collaborate closely with core technology and architecture teams, delivering strategic data solutions while promoting Agile and DevOps methodologies in data engineering delivery.
Responsibilities:
Automate data engineering pipelines to eliminate manual stages.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the organisation's data structures and metrics, advocating changes for product development.
Educate and embed new data techniques into the business through role modelling, training, and experiment design oversight.
Craft data engineering strategies to build a scalable data architecture and feature-rich datasets for data scientists.
Create solutions for streaming data ingestion and transformations in alignment with the organisation's streaming strategy.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should be intermediate-level programmers and data engineers with qualifications in Computer Science or Software Engineering. A strong understanding of data usage and dependencies, coupled with a proven track record in extracting value from large-scale data, is essential.
Key skills and experiences include:
Extensive experience in ETL technical design, automated data quality testing, QA, documentation, data warehousing, data modelling, and data wrangling.
Proficiency in RDMS, ETL pipelines, Python, Hadoop, SQL, and a solid grasp of modern code development practices.
Ability to manage multiple data and analytic systems with an awareness of decentralised data architectures.
Experience in maintaining ML models, MLOp pipelines, and model factories, along with proven mentoring abilities and good critical thinking with problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience with relevant technologies such as Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
