Role profile Conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify the presence of dampness, mould growth and associated issues.

Utilise specialised equipment and techniques to measure moisture levels, assess ventilation systems and detect potential sources of dampness and mould.

Evaluate the extent of damage caused by dampness and mould, including structural integrity, health hazards and aesthetic concerns.

Collaborate with tenants, contractors and other stakeholders to gather relevant information and address concerns regarding dampness and mould.

Generate detailed survey reports outlining findings, observations and recommendations for remedial actions.

Advise stakeholders on effective strategies for preventing and managing dampness and mould problems, including moisture control measures, ventilation improvements and building maintenance practices.

Stay updated on industry standards, regulations and best practices related to dampness and mould assessment and remediation.

Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues and clients regarding the identification, prevention and treatment of dampness and mould issues.

Maintain accurate records of survey data, reports, correspondence and other relevant documentation.

Person specification Essential Working towards HNC/HND in construction / building services.

Experience of building surveying and Damp/Mouldrac

Strong knowledge of building construction principles, materials, and systems, particularly as they relate to dampness and mould issues.

Proven track record of working in a customer focused environment.

Basic knowledge of construction methods.

Basic knowledge of Building Regulations, Health & Safety and other statutory/regulatory standards.

Basic knowledge of CDM requirements.

Basic commercial acumen.

Knowledge of SOR’s.

Ability to prepare reports.

Desirable Educated to degree level in construction / building services.

Experience of working in social housing and in partnership with a local authority client.

Managing, monitoring, recording and reporting of Health & Safety and compliance.

Asbestos identification and actions.

Experience in construction or building industry.

Contract management system competency.
