Job overview
Blue Summit is expanding! Right now we are looking for an IT Support Specialist to help provide onsite IT support and consulting to one of our clientsin London. This team member will be working with clients in person and online to resolve technical issues, review business processes and offer suggestions and expertise to eliminate business technology issues.
This is a full-time position direct with Blue Summit. We offer paid time off, ongoing training and the opportunity to expand your horizons. The work schedule is dependent on our clients' needs, but normal hours are from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
Education and background
You will be working directly with clients on a day to day basis. A technical degree in computer science or related field is required. Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.) are a necessity as clients are looking to utilize your expertise. Experience in consulting or working in a multi-client environment is a strong plus. Past employment with an MSP is a plus. Experience working with Microsoft 365, Azure AD and InTune are required. Experience in VoIP, 3CX, Linux and VMWare are incredibly helpful.
Job duties and requirements
Must be comfortable with all facets of PC, laptop hardware, setup and maintenance; including installation and configuration of hard drives, NIC's, printers, and other PC accessories.
Must be able to ask questions and listen to customers in order to find out the issue, explain the problem in a clear and understandable way, and work with BST management to offer options for remediation.
Must be able to use your hands to safely move and place equipment up to 50 pounds in a normal office or server room environment.
Troubleshooting: must be able to diagnose, repair and test computer problems as they arise.
Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers
Manage well-functioning LAN/WAN components (servers, IPs, etc.)
Manage security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection from attacks
Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated
Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
Arrange maintenance sessions to discover and mend inefficiencies
Keep records and update documentation related to repairs and fixes for future reference
Experience with Microsoft software (desktop and server editions, Office) is required
Experience with Mac is preferred, but not required
Provide remote support for Windows and Android handheld devices
Knowledge of SQL databases, structure and how to get data out
Work with Microsoft 365, Azure AD and InTune to securely manage systems and accounts
Providing training and guidance on our badging and timekeeping systems
Troubleshoot and repair computer and printer equipment
Provide logistics for delivery and return of equipment
On call support for all BST clients
