Our client requires an Senior Analogue Electronics Engineer with knowledge in planning, leading and executing design tasks having scope for independent accomplishment and co-ordination of assignments.
To develop technical solutions to problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Assigned problems can make it necessary to apply existing criteria in accepted ways and draw conclusions from comparative situations. Ability to work with and lead external development teams.
Capable of leading and owning work packages from inception through to completion. Take accountability for the product, ensuring good quality that meets the necessary business requirements.
Provide a technical interface to the product management team, developing concepts and ideas in-line with the various product roadmaps, driving the correct technology and maturity into the overall product design.
Requires application of mature scientific knowledge in planning and conducting tasks having scope for independent accomplishment and co-ordination of difficult assignments.
Senior Analogue Electronics Engineer Day-to-day activities include:
Recognized expert in the field of analogue electronics. Works under broad direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Independently formulates technically innovative ideas when implementing projects or activities.
Advises and coaches less senior engineers on technical problems, reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
Plans and executes packages of work, either as an individual or as a work package owner.
Peer reviewing colleague’s designs
Participating in formal project design reviews
Oversee work with development partners.
Senior Analogue Electronics Engineer Essential Skills:
Analogue design
Design and characterization of low noise, analogue receiver front end amplifiers
Operational amplifier selection criteria
Understanding of loop stability
Discrete transistor circuit design
Component de rating
Power amplifiers up to 200kHz 1W – 150W, Class B & Class D
Analogue active and passive filter design
Switch Mode PSUs, including:
Very low noise/EMI, high efficiency, low power
Magnetics
Measurement & Test (bench and environmental chamber)
Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyser, Vector Network Analyser, Thermal Camera, Data loggers
Design to meet EMC, Radio and Safety regulations (e.g. EN 300220, EN61000, EN55011, EN55022)
Schematic capture & circuit simulation
Extensive experience in product development
Senior Analogue Electronics Engineer Highly Desirable Skills:
Processor interfacing – USB, I2C, SPI, RS232/485
Digital Signal Processing
Mathematical modelling with appropriate tools (e.g. MatLab, MathCAD)
Magnetics e.g. induction mode transmitter/receivers, field theory, ferrites/materials
Design to meet Safety standards (e.g. EN60950, EN61010)
Techniques for Built-In Self-Test (BIST)
Magnetic induction mode signal acquisition
Understanding of ADC and DAC types, usage and design
High resolution/dynamic range, real-time analogue/digital conversion
Single/multi-cell battery powered devices
Battery chargers
Type approval testing
PCB layout
Ability to lead technical teams
What’s on offer:
Salary £60,000 – £68,000 (Depending on Experience)
Annual bonus of 3% – 6%

My client offers a 2-stage process that can be completed within 1-2 week. (Subject to availability). 1st stage is a 30-60 minute Teams interview and the 2nd stage is on onsite technical interview and site tour.
