Overview:

The Accounts Assistant monitors the inflow of cash, keeping a clear reference on the system of payment issues from Customers and resolving problems / queries Customers may have. Maintain close relationships with key customers. Working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure inflow of cash is maintain and overdue cash is kept low. Monitoring the expenditure of a company and keeping records of products and services bought by the business.

Role:

• Responsibility of chasing Direct customers and clients for payments by calling, sending letters/emails and reducing Debtor Days

• Terminate agreements in default and calculate termination balances

• Responsible for maintaining client accounts with accurate notes and actions

• Daily/Weekly statement preparation

• Prepare aged debtor reports for manager and directors

• Weekly ledger update to manager

• To effectively deal with and resolve promptly any queries that arise to ensure collection of cash

• Day to Day banking - Receipting cash collected into systemin accordance to customer remittances

• Re-negotiating repayment plans if people are in financial difficulties.

• Liaising with external debt collectors for non-paying customers.

• Highlight problems and issues when they occur for timely resolution.

• Checking/processing invoices with accuracy.

• Organising payments to suppliers on time.

• Ensure that correct codes are allocated to the expenditure.

• Manage and reconcile petty cash and foreign currency requests.

• Manage a range of finance related queries, both internal and external

• To assist the Finance Manager and team colleagues with day-to-day tasks.

• Answering phone calls and taking payments.
