Who We Are Looking For:

Contracts Specialist

Permanent

Full Time 37.5 hrs

Aberdeen, UK (50/50 Hybrid working)

The Contracts Specialist is the regional focal point for Supply Chain Management (SCM) Contracts. They provide guidance to the Business Units on all aspects of SCM Contracting Principles. The Contracts Specialist will establish and maintain effective internal and external relationships mitigating risk throughout the supply chain and promoting safe, effective, trouble-free operations.

Responsibilities:

Support the continual development and implementation of a robust SCM governance programme within the Business Units, ensuring regionally, SCM conform to all Company and SCM Policies and Standards, fully meeting the Company’s obligations under ABC legislation.

Work with the regions to implement a contracting strategy and implement in accordance with SCM Contracting Principles.

Ensure robust contract management processes are implemented for key contracts.

Mentor the Contracts Co-ordinators in the regions to develop them accordingly.

Work within the Contracts Corporate Team to allow the business to have a structured, systematic approach to contracts management and contracting principles.

Provide effective communication with Operations and E&M leadership to promote SCM standards and procedures to ensure good contracting practice is cascaded through the business.

Maintain awareness of SCM and contracting best practice in relation to the oil & gas marketplace and act as the functional expert in these matters.

Support Regional teams in contract dispute matters

Key Skills:

Demonstrate competence in SCM methodologies with the ability to interface with other functions at various levels to achieve objectives.

Proven track record in contract planning, tender management, post tender negotiation, contract award and contract management.

Must be well organised, proactive and a good communicator.

Understanding of the Oil & Gas sector marketplace, market forces

Experience:

Proven experience (3 years) in a SCM contracts role with an Oilfield Operator, Drilling Contractor or Service Company or equivalent

Must have experience in defining long-term contracting strategies and the delivery of the accompanying plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a Law or Business Discipline.

LLM, MCIPs or MSc Supply Chain Management is advantageous
