We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both purchase and sales ledger processes. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Day to Day of the Role: Managing and maintaining the sales ledger, including processing invoices, reconciling invoice discrepancies, and handling customer payment queries.
Overseeing the purchase ledger, ensuring timely processing of supplier invoices, and preparing payment runs.
Reconciling bank statements and ledger accounts.
Assisting with month-end closing procedures and reporting.
Collaborating with other departments to improve financial processes and controls.
Handling ad-hoc accounting duties and administrative support to the finance team.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant, particularly with purchase and sales ledger responsibilities.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
Excellent numerical skills with attention to detail.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
