EU Gas & Power Scheduler

Working in a Global Energy Trading business situated in the heart of London, as the EU Gas & Power Scheduler you will contribute to the operational processes, development of ad-hoc solutions and where appropriate, to the operational and commercial activities related to the European Power & Gas activities. You will assist with daily activities such as Energy Scheduling (Power and Natural Gas), position reconciliation, and development of ad-hoc reports and operational tools. This is an excellent opportunity to build your experience within energy trading and excel in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the daily and hourly balancing of the company in the different European Power & Gas market areas.
Assist in setting up scheduling systems for Power & Gas.
Work with trading functions to ensure timely nomination of power and gas activity in Europe.
Assist in the reconciliation of the trading activity.
Develop ad-hoc operational analysis reports.
Where appropriate, lead change management projects to seamlessly handle market changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related field of study. A Master's degree highly desirable.
2+ years’ experience in a similar role within Power or Gas scheduling
Proficiency in coding languages (Python, VBA, or SQL) is preferred.
Ability to interact with commercial desks and support functions across all management levels.
Strong communication abilities with proficiency in additional languages being advantageous.
Strong attention to detail and strong quantitative and statistical skills.
Exceptional work ethic.
Requires occasional weekend work, done on a rotation basis.
