This business ia an independent practice firm based in Edinburgh's city centre, providing a full range of accounting services for a mixture of sole traders, limited companies and partnerships. The Accounts Assistant role that is available at this firm provides a fantastic opportunity for either a seasoned bookkeeper who is keen to bring their experience to an established team or someone early in their career who is keen to take their next step and work in a small friendly and relaxed office environment with career progression opportunities.
The Job
The practice is looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join their existing tight-knit team. You will be responsible for reconciliations, preparing small accounts, VAT returns and payroll for a variety of clients. General office admin tasks will also be part of the role including filing and telephone answering. The role will however be primarily Accounts and data processing based.
The Candidate
To be a success in this role, you will have previous experience of working in accounts based role. In addition, you will have a strong eye for detail, a sound understand of accounting principles and an ability to communicate on a proifessional level with clients and colleagues alike. A working knowledge of Excel/Office and exposure to cloud accounting software (FreeAgent, Xero, Sage etc) is highly beneficial.
The Benefits
The role pays a competitive salary of £24,000 - £28,000 depending on your experience. To achieve the top end you will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in a similar role and have experience of all of the requirements. Flexible working options are available such as part time and compressed hours. Office hours are Monday to Friday 9-5 with a 4pm finish on Fridays. This role is office based.
