Software Engineering Manager

Our client, a manufacturer of both single and double deck battery and fuel cell electric buses is currently looking for a Software Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Vehicle Systems to drive the vision, strategy, design, compliance, and implementation of the engineering function to support the strategic objectives of the business.
The Software Engineering Manager will:
instrumental in the leadership and development of software design team to deliver all tasks relating to software and elect rial architecture.
with other business departments in sales, manufacturing, aftermarket, and finance to roll out new products and implement the ongoing process improvements of the current products.
on delivery of both PLC and code level software development.
compliance of engineering practices and activities with company Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes.
and monitor appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and produce a monthly KPI report for the Head of Vehicle Systems.
with the production department to optimize design and New Product Introductions (NPI).
adherence to Safety Critical Processes during the design stage and provide support to the Product Safety Committee during in-service support.
develop, and train the engineering team while establishing future requirements for engineering talent and succession planning in line with future technological developments.
The Software Engineering Manager will have:
degree in Software Engineering or equivalent.
experience of Embedded C SW development for vehicle applications (Chassis control systems / Energy Management Control Systems / Electric Drive)
design experience in software programming.
experience leading small, agile technical teams to deliver a shared objective.
communication skills.
leadership and people management skills.
