Bangor is a city in North West Wales. It is one of the smallest cities in Britain and has a population of over 21,000 people. Bangor is one of only 6 locations known as cities in Wales. It is a university city, home to over 10,000 students from Bangor University. Just under half of the populations of Bangor are thought to speak Welsh within the city.

Bangor is home to cultural attractions including the Gwynedd Museum and Art Gallery. It is also the location of Wales' second longest pier, Garth Pier which is over 460 metres long. The city of Bangor is known as a centre for classical music; there are many classical concerts performed in the city each year, thanks to the Bangor University's 'Music at Bangor' concert series, which take place in the Powis and Pritchard-Jones Halls in the city.

There are many opportunities for retail jobs in the city of Bangor. The central shopping area is based around Bangor High Street, and there are also many retail parks located around the outskirts of Bangor, providing a good retail trade in the city.

The hospital in Bangor provides much employment within the city. Ysbyty Gwynedd is quite a large hospital with over 550 beds for patients. The hospital is also the home of the headquarters for the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and the North West Wales NHS Trust.

Bangor has connections with the media industry, and the city is the location for one of the BBC's broadcasting centres, which produces output for BBC Radio Cymru. The studio is also the main North Wales newsroom for TV, radio and online and provides many jobs within the city of Bangor.
