We have a great opportunity for Support Workers to join a well-established residential service in Wells for adults with learning disabilities and mental illness.

About the role:

You will be working with adults with a range of needs, including verbal and non-verbal learning disabilties, autism, mental illness, and very challenging behaviours. The service is based on a working farm, and service users have access to a wonderful range of opportunities and involvement in real farm working, including large animal care, food production, woodland skills and land management.

Your role will include:

* Supporting service users with daily routines such as mealtimes, personal care, medication, housework, and work opportunities both on-site and off-site

* Supporting service users to access services and facilities in the community; attending appointments

* Faciliting, motivating and supporting service users to engage in leisure, recreation, educational and employment opportunities

* Using person-centred approaches such as the PBS model to help reduce behaviours that challenge

You will be working in an environment that encourages creativity and flexibility when it comes to achieving positive outcomes, and will be supported at every opportunity to upskill and pursue development opportunities.

Working Hours:

We have both full time and part time opportunities available, and can accommodate preferences for long days, short days, weekends-only and nights-only working.

Full time (day) Support Workers will work to a 2 week rota, with just 1 waking night every 2 weeks.

Who are we looking for?

* We are looking for people with experience in any aspect of healthcare/social care, who can demonstrate strong person-centered values and motivation to work in social care

* You should be a confident and resilient individual with a positive, person-centered mindset

* A qualification in health and social care is desirable, but not essential as you will be supported to achieve this within your probation period. Experience in Positive Behavioural Support would also be a great advantage but not essential as excellent training and development will be given.

* A full UK driving license is essential, but your own vehicle is not necessary
