We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader / Senior Support Worker to join a fantastic provider of learning disability and mental health support in Wells, Somerset

About the role:

This role is based on a working farm, and is home to adults with autism, learning disabilities, mental illness, forensic histories, complex needs and/or very challenging behaviour. Service users have access to a range of opportunities and involvement in real farm working, including large animal care, food production, woodland skills and land management.

You will work closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure service users receive the highest quality of care and support, and are empowered and motivated to achieve positive outcomes for themselves. You will support service users to access opportunities and engage in activities on the farm, as well as off-site opportunities and services.

Your role will include:

* Running the shift in the absence of the Deputy Manager

* Allocated admin hours for involvement in care plans, CQC compliance, and other admin duties.

* Day to day support of service users, including support with daily routines, personal care, medication, accessing day services, attending appointments, developing life skills, engaging in leisure and recreation opportunities

* Using person-centred approaches such as PBS to reduce behaviours that challenge

Working hours are 40 per week (including paid breaks) on a 2-week rota, working daytime and evening hours, with alternate weekends.

Salary and Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary at £23,900 per annum, with benefits including:

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for experienced Senior Support Workers / Team Leaders who know how to get the best out of both their teams and service users.

You should have experience working with people with autism, learning disabilities and//or mental health needs, along with challenging behaviours

Applicants should hold their NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or be willing to complete it within their probation period

A full UK driving license is essential, but your own vehicle is not required.
