We have an exciting new opportunity for several Activity Co-ordinators to join a wonderful Day Service and Residential Service for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs in Wells.

About the role:

This is a brand new position recently created to further improve the services and to maximise the opportunities available to service users.

Your role as Activity Co-ordinator will be to run activity sessions according to the activity planner, designed around service users' care plans. Recent and upcoming activities include pumpkin carving, bonfire events, film nights, pebble painting, dry stone walling, rambles, glassblowing, arts and crafts, cooking, and more.

You will help to plan, prepare and lead the sessions; giving instruction and encouragement throughout and motivating service users along the way.

You will liaise with the Day Services Manager, Support Workers and Admin to ensure activities are well planned and co-ordinated, and delivered in a person-centred way.

Working Hours:

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week (including paid breaks). You should be flexible toward working some evenings and weekends.

Who are we looking for?

* We are looking for creative people with strong organisational skills, and an ability to guide and instruct clearly and effectively

* While experience in the care sector would be an advantage, it is not essential; however you should be able to demonstrate confidence, resilience and empathy when working with service users with learning disabilities, mental health needs and behaviours that challenge

* Such backgrounds & experience in Teaching Assistance/Learning Support, Events Management, Hospitality, Project Management, Youth Work, and Art Therapy would be welcomed

* A full UK driving license is essential, but your own vehicle is not necessary
