Christmas Party Etiquette

It’s that time of year again. Christmas party season is in full swing and it's time to get your glad rags on and let your hair down.

So whether you’re looking forward to the night or dreading it, read our top tips and let us help you make the most of it.

Make Effort

Nobody likes a party pooper. Be sure to go! It’s an opportunity to chat to colleagues you might not normally get chance to. Get to know them, talk about something other than work, you’ve had all week to do this. So, lighten up the mood and create some new conversations.

Loosen up but don’t lose control

This is the perfect time to loosen up and be more yourself. Just remember, it’s your work colleagues and boss you’re out with, so try not to embarrass yourself by drinking too much. Keep the alcohol flowing at a steady pace, maybe wait until after you’ve eaten before you start. As the saying goes: better to be safe than sorry.

Dress appropriately

The main thing about the event, is that you have fun. Being comfortable plays a big part in this. Make sure you know the dress code. If you are supposed to dress casually, don’t embarrass yourself by wearing a suit, alternatively if it is smart, perhaps jeans and a top might not go down particularly well.

Don’t complain about your co-workers/boss

Gossip can travel quick, especially around your work place. Watch what you say and who you say it too, you don’t want to end the night having no friends left at work! Or maybe even fired if it’s about your boss!!!  The best tip here is to keep edgy opinions to yourself.

Last of all don’t forget your Secret Santa gift and be sure to enjoy yourself, you deserve it after this year's hard work!

Merry Christmas ?? And a Happy New Year Everyone!
