Our client is an industry leading design and manufacturer of specialist niche products that are used in a variety of industries. Key responsibilities: -

This role underpins the development of new fluid-path products and services. The requirement is to deliver new prototyping and manufacturing processes to enable the acceleration of our clients new product development (NPD) activities.

The intention of this new role is to introduce a production/manufacturing focus much earlier within our clients NPD process. The objective is to facilitate the introduction of exciting new technologies via careful mitigation of risk and effective management of change.

*Identify, evaluate, justify and implement new prototyping and manufacturing technologies
*Design new systems and processes (including cell layout for prototyping facilities and pilot lines)
*Manage Technology Projects, including the planning, reporting, financial management and leadership of multi-disciplined teams
*Contribute to NPD projects
*Assessment and management of risk
*Generation of SOPs allowing work to be conducted in line with EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) policies
*Use of technology readiness levels (TRLs) to demonstrate and quantify project process
*Liaison with production engineers and manufacturing teams; handover final commissioning of new processes and equipment across multiple sites
*Work with Strategic Sourcing team to identify and qualify new suppliers of components and equipment
*Implement formal process qualification (including IQOQPQ and PPAP)
*Support quality assurance strategy; maintain focus on critical-to-quality features and KPIs
*Continual improvement activities e.g. automation
*Help maintain a 5 year technology roadmap

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Essential:
*Production engineering; exposure to a wide range of manufacturing processes
*Involvement in design for manufacture activities within an NPD environment
*Practical experience with system design; delivering functional prototypes or production-viable products
*Experience of process qualification methods e.g. IQOQPQ or PPAP
*Proven ability of leading and working in multi-discipline teams
*Use of statistical process control methods and associated software
*Experience of FMEA
*Experience of CAD, CAE and CAM technology
*Experience of managing financial budgets

Degree or Equivalent in Engineering

Benefits Package:

*Salary:- £40,000. to £45,000 DOE
*Working Hours:-Monday to Friday Days (Flexible working hours)
*Holidays :- 27 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
