They are now looking to build a team of top talent, who will support their ambitious growth plans. With a history spanning over 150 years of marine manufacturing experience they offer a unique combination of vast facilities and technical capability perfectly positioned to support the full life-cycle needs of the defence, commercial shipping, cruise & ferry, oil & gas and renewables sectors as well as major civils projects.The PositionFaststream are now recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join the sales department of this extremely busy Shipyard specifically working on offshore and renewable projects.The successful candidate could be someone who has already made the move from working as an Engineer of a maritime company, or someone who is looking to make the leap across. Potential projects could consist or Offshore, Renewable or other Maritime projects. The team currently have a huge pipeline of project tenders, with large expansion plans for the next 12 months. As such this role will best suit a dynamic individual who is a collaborative team player, motivated by team success and a shared vision for long-term growth.Bid Support * To translate aspects of the statement of customer requirements into a cost estimate. * To liaise and co-ordinate company departments eg, engineering, operations, finance and procurement departments in the compilation of estimates and bid packages. * To develop standard costs for the use of operational assets and resources. * To participate in site visits to assess/define customer requirements. * To ensure that customers contractual requirements, terms and conditions and standards are taken into account as appropriate in the preparation of estimates and bid packages. * To develop standard costs for the use of operational assets and resources. * To contribute to the development and maintenance of norms and estimating conventions to improve estimate response times. * To develop bid submissions in line with customer requirements.Project Support * To assist with the project management of awarded projects and be fully conversant with the tender submission. * To assist with the development of the strategy, project and operational/tactical plans to execute the project. * To provide support to project management in relation to the development of estimates for Variation Orders. * To assist with the management of the Change Control Process and to negotiate with the customer any changes to the contract, to develop estimates for variation orders.The RewardOn offer is a very attractive and competitive remuneration package and the chance to be a part of the turnaround and significant growth agenda of one of the most historical shipyards in the world.Other benefits include: * Annual bonus * Pension contribution * 28 days holiday (Inc public holidays) More
