The role of the Support Worker is to provide support and assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness. This role requires individuals to work with agencies outside of the scheme in supporting homeless customers e.g. Police, Social Services, Local authority

A Homelessness Support Worker is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that occupants comply with property rules and regulations

Allocating rooms / bedding and other resources to customers and ensuring that all property equipment is maintained to a good standard

  • Reporting any breakages / repairs needed to appropriate teams within the business e.g. maintenance, management
  • Ensuring that health and safety procedures are explained and adhered to within the property
  • To provide relevant information to all visitors to the property
  • To liaise with staff where appropriate to meet client needs
  • To promote a sense of equality and diversity throughout the business
  • To ensure standards of customer care are to a high standard
  • To deal with challenging behaviour
  • To ensure a level of cleanliness at the scheme
