Job Description Grade 10: £55,750 - £64,605 p.a. The ECI is seeking to appoint a world-class researcher to direct the Energy Research programme. Applications are invited for a senior research leader in the broad area of energy use and policy. We seek an interdisciplinary senior researcher with a strong background in social science, planning, policy analysis or economics who has a demonstrated record of publication, policy, engagement, winning significant grant income, and impact in energy research, as well as experience in leading teams and catalysing research synergies. The postholder will be expected to complement and build on the existing strengths of the Energy Programme and play a leading role in the management of the Energy Programme, having responsibility for the development of the programme's strategic direction, contributing to the overarching vision and managing staff performance. The postholder will also be appointed as a Jackson Senior Research Fellow of Oriel College, where responsibilities will include contributions to college life including conducting high quality research, advising a small number of graduate students at Oriel and attending meetings of the Governing Body. The successful applicant will hold a PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline and a track-record of world-leading publications in the energy research and policy field. You will have a proven record of research leadership including strategic planning, management of major proposals, teambuilding and communication. Significant experience in PhD supervision and a commitment to teaching postgraduate students is essential. As a Senior Research Fellow of the College, the successful applicant will be entitled to a stipend of £10,421 p.a., a housing allowance of £8,748 p.a. (or free College accommodation), a research allocation of £1,705 p.a. and Senior Common Room membership and common table.
