Job Description We are currently working with a global hotel chain who is looking for a Buyer to join their team. The role would be full-time, fixed term contract for 3-6 months and is based in Kensington, London. The ideal candidate will come from a hospitality / procurement background, and will be confident in building relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with relevant experience to take on more responsibility and work for a prestigious, award winning hotel group with global recognition. The role: * Support the VP Procurement Europe. * Carry out all duties in accordance with company HSE procedures and work instructions. * Continually look for cost savings opportunities through alternative products and innovations. * Support with tender process e.g. selection of contractors, providing relevant documentation. * Ensuring exemplary product quality. * Analyse tender submissions. * Management and identification of new suppliers. * Build strong relationships with suppliers; you will be responsible for the day-to-day communications and ensuring Service Level Agreements and performance indicators are being achieved. * Support compliance with company Policies, Procedures and Processes. * Prepare requests for information and proposals. * Assist with suppliers consolidations. * Provide accurate monthly reporting. * Ensure work routines are organised efficiently. * Support the company training and development plan. * Attend training sessions when required. * Maintain professionalism in corporate dress, grooming and hygiene. * Adhere to all company procedures and legislation including disciplinary procedures, health and safety, fire prevention, and discrimination acts. * Hold department meetings. Requirements: Professional qualifications- * The candidate should be degree level or equivalent. * Ideally qualified / working towards MCIPS. * Proficient skills: IT, written communication, numeracy, administration and MS office. Skills / competencies- * Knowledge of: supply markets, hotel industry, tendering and procurement processes. * Previous experience in a procurement analyst role. * Strong negotiation, analytic, and organisation skills. * Team player with good communication skills, capable of building and maintaining good relations with colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers. * Self-motivated, fast learner and able to work under pressure. * Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise and handle a heavy workload.
