Job Description Planner/Buyer, Midlothian, £30,000 to £32,000 Our client is looking for a dynamic, hard-working Planner/ Buyer to take responsibility for efficient planning and scheduling of operations and purchasing of materials to ensure the factory plan is met and customer deadlines are achieved. Key Responsibilities: * Execute production schedule in relation to the factory with respect to capacity and material requirements. * Creation and execution of full annual factory production capacity and material requirements plan. * Analyse MRP reports, internal off-line reports, and other sources as necessary to identify purchasing requirements (including for non-MRP items where required) and raise/ expedite relevant purchase orders as appropriate to ensure the factory plan is achieved on time. * Create three-week realistic rolling plan and communicate to factory personnel. * Lead weekly meeting to ensure all areas are working to achieve weekly production output plan. * Provide progress reports as required to the Senior Management. * Work with colleagues and material suppliers on despatch process to ensure highlighted jobs are moved within schedule to suit material requirements and follow up to drive a fully aligned approach with the factory and Customer Service personnel. * Obtain and maintain up to date records for suppliers' specifications, certificates of Test and Conformity, REACH certificates, FSC certificates, and any others that may be required. * Champion and develop data capture to ensure machine loading and utilisation is understood and factored into the factory plan. * Maintain procedures manual. Skills & Experience Required: * Knowledge and experience with MRP/ERP principals and operation. * Proactive "can-do" mentality * Must have Microsoft Office suite experience * Consistently accurate with data capture and presentation. * Ability to work in a team environment and jointly develop solutions where organisational and personal objectives may conflict. * Report writing experience. * Ability to hold meetings with various levels of personnel to monitor progress and prepare production plans.
