We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, proactive and driven individual to work as a Maintenance Engineer. Reporting to the Engineering Manager the position is responsible provide a rapid response to maintenance and breakdown issues throughout the plant and fulfilling duties of the role in a safe, responsible and timely manner.
* To undertake scheduled planned preventative maintenance and work orders
* To ensure optimum plant output when in production and challenge existing practices
* To ensure stock levels and ‘critical plant spares’ are in stock
* Cover essential elements of Engineering Supervisors’ role in their absence.
Facilitate & Execute Continuous Improvement
* Continuous improve standards through the delivery of CI projects.
* Monitor & Improve OEE
* Deliver practical problems solving activities that improve business metrics
* Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, resolving any issues highlighted by audits within agreed timescale.
* Support the achievement of customer service levels and production plans.
Successful candidates should be educated to a high standard with both Health and Safety and PLC qualifications and experience. Candidates should have 17th Edition EAWR 1989, experience and knowledge of delivering CI activities and have a minimum of 3 years post apprentice evidence of troubleshooting and repairing of equipment within FMCG or industrial processing environment. Candidates must have the ability to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills is essential to this role, as well as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Individuals must be able to prioritise their workload and work effectively when under pressure, as working to tight deadlines is part of this role. Applicants should have a flexible approach to working, be both externally and internally customer focussed and be able to deliver KPIs and manage multiple projects. A sound knowledge of IT packages, proficient use of MS Office Tools as well as analytical and interpreting skills is also essential to this role.
Hours of work
This is a day staff position, working a basic 37.5 hour week, Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm with an hour paid break, however due to nature of this role you will need to demonstrate a certain amount of flexibility.
